At Synergi, we are on a mission to facilitate the transition to sustainable energy with smart software solutions. We strive to provide reliable, affordable energy solutions accessible to everyone and easy to use.

As we look towards the future, we have some exciting plans for 2023 that will positively impact both your wallet and the planet, win-win. This blog will explain our plans in detail, so stay tuned.

Building our platform, starting from your electric vehicle

This spring, we will launch our first product solution that will help you save money and CO2 by charging your electric vehicle (EV) or plug-in-hybrid-vehicle (PHEV) when the spot price is low and electricity in the grid is predominantly produced by renewables.

We've created savings of up to 50% per customer, so we are happy to provide everyone with this opportunity soon. If you can't wait for the actual product launch to start using the product, drop us a line at hello@synergi.so, and let's see if we can squeeze you into the closed beta we have up and running ;)

We are also focusing on making our product more comprehensive - meaning that you can control more of your household energy resources and consumption; we'll be rolling out new product verticals soon after the electric vehicle product. Is it heat pumps? Solar panels? Or home batteries? We'll inform you soon, but before that, you can join our waitlist and tell us what energy resources you wish to see on our platform.

Balancing the Grid with Flexible Consumption

Why do we care about keeping the grid in balance? It's simple - we want the grid to be up and running at all times and accommodate renewables more than it currently does.

What does balance then actually mean? The balance between production and consumption is indicated by the electricity grid frequency, which has a nominal value of 50.0 Hz. In a nutshell, this means that the supply matches the consumption.

As we move more into inflexible energy sources, such as wind power and nuclear, more grid balancing (or demand-side management) is needed. This is where Synergi steps in. We aim to bring our customers to the flexibility markets so that they can keep the grid up and running 24/7/365 and earn through participation.

How can EVs participate in grid balancing? It's simple. As soon as the grid experiences fluctuations, we alter the charging patterns of the cars momentarily. This could mean stopping charging for 5 minutes, for example, a couple of times a year. Hopefully, this will not happen, but Synergi will be one of the actors providing the necessary flexibility to keep the grid up and running.
